High Heels

Yesterday I made this layout with Websters Pages "postcards from Paris" and a small piece of newspapersheet by K&C. The flowerborder at the bottom was cut out of a vellum sheet. Made a tag with a grommet and pieces of the vellum and the newspaper sheets.
Journalling on the tag says that Jacky is all dressed up for a christmas party at her school. She bought the High Heels just that afternoon together with a friend, it was a real bargain since the 2nd pair was only € 1,-.
But the people in the store forgot to remove the alarm. You can imagine the teenage-panic before she finally got to the party :)

Merry Christmas!!

I really had fun making this christmaslayout with, again, the beautiful G45 papers. The tree was inspired by Toni and created using a lot of leaf-punches, dear old Silhouette cut out the deer and the wooden fence is made of tapas-forks. Added a few roses, gems,  a leafribbon and a wooden star and some fake snow to complete it. The vintage image is from Heidi's blog. I picked it becaues of the four-leaf clover,  I have some dried ones at home and wanted to use at first. The shaped paper was also home-made and  the edges are decorated with liquid applique.

Update march 2010: I won Maries december challenge at artistic document with this layout!!

Candy Kisses

The 23rd challenge at Dare to use color had to be an all purple and grey project. Made this layout of my daughter Jacky while she was enjoying her candy floss in Disneyland, Paris. I edited the photograph, so that the candy floss is pink and the flowers behind her are purple again. The rest is all black&white. Used purple cardstock, dark purple Basic Grey and some grey design paper. Furhtermore a lot of flowers. The plain grey chipboardletters are stamped with a textstamp and after that layered with clear embossing powders. The big S is decorated with look-a-like sugar... Unfortunately I did not win the challenge, but who cares, I have another great layout for my collection!

Christmas project LGS #6

Let's Get Shabby challenge no 6 is all about Christmas. Usually not my kind of thing but I enjoyed making this item. A wooden starshaped tray,  which I painted white and decorated with G45 papers and all kinds of ribbons and christmas embellishments.  And doesn't this fake snow look real or what?

My Girl

I didn't manage to play along with the online crop last monday at the SA-forum. But I made the layout today. Papers are SEI chocolat. The bird in the cage is from a postcard and the Picture was made 10 years ago in a small German town called Stadtkyl.

These city walls

This weeks challenge at Scrapping The Music is U2's "only to be with you".  Since the 20th anniversary of fall of the Berlin is breaking news at the moment I chose an odd line in this song as my inspiration..."these city walls".
The photograph was taken near Brandenburger Tor. In order to visit the Eastern part of Berlin we had to change money, 25 DM. But there was nothing for sale back than!! So we went to a supermarket en bought hammers and chisers. Then we went back to West-Berlin to chop into the wall! Do you notice the VoPo's standing and staring on that wall.... It was an amazing and crazy time, that's for sure!

I used Tim Holz' technique to make the barbwire and a couple of Peters layout's inspired me to create that grungy look and oppresive atmosphere...

And this are pieces of the real German Wall, pieces that we chopped out ourselves, with hammers and chisers that we bought in Eastern Berlin during a daytrip.

Do you notice the DDR Police (Vopo's) standing and staring at us breaking down that wall....

Angelique

Challenge no 5 at let's get shabby is a true dare: "Our Challenge Five consists of a focus of handmade embellishment/s - it can be a few or just one, but it must be the FOCUS of your creation "
Had a hard time figuring out what to make, untill I received AMM's newsletter with a tutorial for making a corset. So all the credits for my embellishment should go to Larissa, for giving me this inspiration!!!
The corset was made with K&C and MME papers. Decorated it with feathers, lace, tiny roses, pearls pieces that were cut from a vine and also used a lot of distress ink. Inside the corset is a tag, with an extra photo and some journalling. The background paper is MME Bella Bella and a piece of cardstock that I shaped, all the edges are distressed and stamped with distress ink, and for the finishing touch I sprayed some glimmer mist.

Does any of you know Angelique? I used to watch these movies with my mom and just dreamt away during these incredible stories about this beautiful woman. Not to mention her husband "Jeoffrey".......
Since she was wearing corsets as well, I thought these photo's of here would perfectly match my embellishment. This is a tag, that's inside the corset.
Oh, here's this Jeoffrey guy! He had a scar on his left cheek. Soooo sexy!
This is the corset without the tag.
Sorry that it's not in dutch this time! Enne, hier ben ik zo lang mee bezig geweest, verder heb ik niks meegemaakt....

PS: I did not win the challenge, but was among the honorable mentions, which is a great honour also!!

I'm All Ears

Our puppydog Midas is 18 weeks old now and he has huge ears. So I made this layout using weekly sketch 42 at Scrapfever and sent it in last week for the brown/aqua dare at Dare to use color.

And so there's allready challenge no. 4 at let's get shabby blog. This time we have to use a sketch for inspiration. And to use something vintage.
Papers I used are Bo Bunny and 7 Gypsies. The old Roman coin and head both represent the something vintage part in this challenge. The title is Latin for "bread & games" which the emperor thought the people wanted.

This photo was taken just 2 weeks ago, we had a special day with about 200 scouts and leaders, playing Roman games. My part was playing one of the emperors fine ladies, throwing around some money for "the plebs" to collect. Really had fun doing this... The fake money comes from a Chinese toko by the way.

Alweer uitdaging nr. 4 bij Let's Get Shabby!
